The Samsung E1107 Crest Solar Guru is the first phone featuring a solar recharge capability. This, otherwise low-end device, is a “green phone”. Although it’s rather primitive it manages to impress through the solar panel attached to the battery. Almost the entire backside is dedicated to the solar panel with the remaining space sporting a Samsung emblem and a sun symbol so as to indicate, or show off – rather, the solar recharging capability. The solar phone’s front side sports a small screen of 1.52″(128×128) capable of rendering 65k colors.
The battery is only 800 mAh and exposure to sun for an hour only enables about 8 minutes worth of conversation. It follows that we must sun bathe it for hours to completely recharge just on solar power so don’t discard that recharger just yet. The Samsung E1107 is worth gold if you plan on forsaking civilization for a while in the secluded wilderness of some natural paradise somewhere or you are otherwise far removed from any power outlet.
It have mp3 capabilities, fm radio plus flashlight function witch is very useful but unfortunately it is not equipped with a camera. Weighs 85 grams and is not to small 105.2 x 44.2 x 16.4 mm.
